Derek’s BYO Policy.
Although we pride ourselves on having an approachable wine list at Derek’s, with over 150 selections and many choices that are at or under $20, we understand that some of you would still like to enjoy your own bottle. Our BYO policy is and always has been that we will be more than happy to allow you to bring your own bottle – AT NO CHARGE. That’s right, we are pleased to serve your wine in our beautiful oversized stemware at no cost to you.
Nevertheless, we do have a few restrictions.
Primarily, we only allow one bottle per couple. As a business we want to be responsible for your consumption, not your over-consumption. Please, when planning a night out with friends, limit the number of bottles you bring to honor this policy.
If you are coming to sit at our bar we ask that you do not bring a bottle of wine. We will only allow you to BYO if you are sitting at one of our dining room tables. In additon, during the warm weather days here in Philadelphia, our outside café tables are in very high demand. We will be unable to honor any outdoor BYO requests. We will, however, be pleased to seat you inside.
Also, service is valued very highly at our restaurant, please be considerate when you bring your own bottle and tip your server for their service of the wine.
Lastly, bring a special bottle! We ask that you try not to bring with you any items we are currently selling on our list.
We do ask that you eat and drink well! Perhaps while visiting you may enjoy a specialty cocktail from our menu or one of our interesting desserts from the bar.
When bringing your own bottle, please bring a bag in case you do not consume all of your wine and would like to take the remainder home with you. Remember it is unlawful to drive with an open bottle in the driver’s compartment. Try to place your unfinished bottle in the trunk of your car.
Ultimately, we want you to have fun while at Derek’s. We love creating a wine atmosphere in our restaurant and ask for you to come and help us continue that experience. We are your neighborhood restaurant and we want you to be comfortable.
